Acharya Nagarjuna University

The Acharya Nagarjuna University, an affiliating university, was established by Act 43 1976 of A.P Legislature and the Government by Act 4 of 1991 covering six universities of the state and formally inaugurated by the former President of India, Fakaruddin Ali Ahmed.

The establishment of the university made the way easy for the aspirants of the Southern Coastal districts of Andhra Pradesh to pursue post graduation.

Initially, the University started with only 10 post graduate courses in the university colleges. Since then progress seems to be a never ending process to the university and the university acquired a tremendous development.

Besides the main campus, the University has two post graduate centers - one each at Nuzvid (Krishna Dst.) and Ongole (Prakasam Dst.). The university has its jurisdiction over the three districts of Andhra Pradesh i.e. Krishna, Guntur and Prakasam.
