Education Profile of Andhra Pradesh

Andhra Pradesh has regarded as a hot destination for higher education both for the students of Andhra Pradesh and outside the state. The jurisdiction of quality education, available at every stage of education spreads over almost every village and towns of the state. With the establishment of increasing number of private schools and high schools, the state government introduces several pioneering projects and schemes to enhance the standard of education as well as facilitate primary and elementary education among the poor students.
The Central Government has also changed the education policy of the state with the objective of improving the present education scenario of the state by keeping elementary education reachable to the poor students.
Andhra Pradesh Government has also welcomed the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan to the state to universalize education and provide free education to those who are deprived of primary and elementary education due to many reasons. The initiatives taken by the state government have been found fruitful considering the increase in the literacy rate over the past few years.
To infuse a competitive spirit among students of Zilla Parishad and corporation-run schools, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyaan had announced incentives in the form of cash prizes of Rs. 25,000, Rs. 10,000 and Rs. 5,000 to the first three toppers at the district level respectively, from this academic year. Similarly, the first, second and third rank-holders among Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes students would be given cash prizes of Rs. 10,000 and Rs. 5,000 respectively.
A provision of scholarships & awards has been made to increase the zeal among the talented students and to encourage them work harder.
The quality and up to date education provided by the higher education institutes of Andhra Pradesh encapsulates the overall education policies and scenario of the state making them transparent to the people inside and outside the arena of the state.
